And welcome to my world. If you're looking for exhaustive, thoroughly researched topics with tons and tons of photos and text— this is probably not the place for you. But it you're looking for inspiration to go do your own thing, then you found the right place.
How brilliant is that?? When Julia asked her first guest, Jane Fonda ‘What would you tell your 21 year old self?’ this was her answer, without missing a beat. Author Anne Lamott learned it in AA and told Jane, who told Julia and now I’m telling you. And so goes the oral history among women who take care of each other, who nurture each other, pull each other up.
‘No’ is a complete sentence.
Permission to stop explaining, to stop apologizing, to stop striving to be ‘nice’ to everyone but yourself. Damn, I love that.
This podcast is still in its infancy but shows none of the amateurish bumblings of other fledgling podcasts. Julia is prepared and professional from the jump (despite a power outage in her premier episode). Based on the premise that we don’t hear enough from older women, Julia, now 62 is wise enough to recognize we have a lot to learn from this invisible demographic.
I binged every episode over two days and enjoyed every minute, as easy as sitting down with your friends and talking about real issues, what matters. Grounded and genuine, Julia is an intuitive interviewer, with smarts and sass to spare. I adore her and I love this podcast and I hope you will too.
